Living Agelessly is a comprehensive guide for maintaining health and fitness as we approach mid-life and beyond. It reflects the most frequently asked questions sent to the author’s column Dear Ageless, and emphasizes three broad areas:
- The latest information about nutrition, exercise, and other areas related to maintaining the best health possible, both now and in the future;
- Creating a secure and enjoyable retirement—rich with wonderful relationships, interesting travel, and rewarding experiences
- The practical issues of growing older, both to prepare for your own greater comfort and for that of aging parents.
It addresses the questions that readers often ask: How can I stay healthy? How can I live with greater control and power in my life? How can I protect myself? How can I enjoy life more? Its extensive resource list - including useful books, telephone numbers of agencies and organizations, and websites that can be used for additional research - is a “jumping off” place to find those that you need.

Praise for Living Agelessly…
…a how-to guide for surviving life’s pitfalls as we Baby Boomers venture into the vast and uncharted waters of senior citizenship…Living Agelessly has helped reinforce my doctors’ prescriptions for better diet, more exercise and how important a positive outlook can be. Altoonian explores the spiritual connection between good nutrition, exercise, and a positive, forward-looking attitude. It’s really the ABC’s of fearlessly, even eagerly, moving into another phase of our lives filled with time to do the things we never could fit into our work-crammed lives before, including travel, volunteering, and grandchildren. It’s a book anyone already at or approaching retirement should keep handy on their bookshelves and it’s a tremendous resource for those who have aging parents.” — Jim Reeves, Fort Worth Star-Telegram
…contains hundreds and hundreds of helpful and economical insights distilled from Ms Altoonian’s award winning, ‘Dear Ageless’ column…pages of links to helpful websites and other resources for anyone approaching retirement, just retired, or needing to deal with the last mile. The emphasis is on maximizing life, not squeezing life as we move into a fixed income lifestyle.”
